We are still reading Cinderella. We should be finished with it by the week after Thanksgiving break. Once we are finished with it, we will have a quiz on miscellaneous vocabulary that we've learned throughout the story.

Int. Spanish 2

We have been reading Cinderella (Cenicienta) in order for Emma and Robbie to get used to hearing themselves in Spanish and to start getting used to grammar in Spanish. There are many words they don't know, but they are pushed to "guess" at some words that are very similar to a word in English. Then they realize it is not a coincidence but that they sound similar because they mean the same thing. I translate the words they do not recognize at all.

Once we've finished the story, I will post a set of misc. words they have learned and will have a quiz on them.

Intermediate Spanish 4.21.09

Intermediates should have two worksheets for homework. The subject matter is shape names. For one of the sheets they will need to know their colors. They have gone over them before, but just in case, here is a review list for them:

Intermediates - Quiz on Thursday 4.16.09

Since it was such a nice today, the class went outside to play for the last 15 minutes of class in exchange for learning and ADDING the following list of outdoor playground words to their quiz on Thursday.

MS Spanish 3.17.09

Please finish conjugating two verbs and make sentences at your discretion, for every person (I, you, he, she.... Yo, tu, el, ella, usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ustedes) with each verb in present tense only. The first verb is "escribir" to write (which we went over in class). Remember the second verb was one of your choosing from my "verb" book.

There will be a test on Thursday, March 19th. Please study the verbs we have gone over. The test will be over the verbs in present tense only. The bonus questions will come from past and future tenses.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Today, everybody came up with a sentence having to do with St. Patrick's Day. ( at least their version of it)

The "n's" in ano and cumpleanos should have a tilde. (That funny little horizontal line over some "n's" in Spanish. It creates another letter and another sound. Unfortunatly, that letter is not on a typical keyboard. Also, please remember that in Spanish, exclamation and question marks go on both sides of a sentence, not just at the end.
